How I Wear my NBR in the Summertime

Now that the heat is FINALLY here, I thought I would share some styles I’ve done in previous years that have helped me beat the heat during summer while wearing NBR Hair Extensions.

I’ve tried most all of these styles in East Coast humidity and they hold up well with that type of heat. I’ve created tutorials for most of these styles.

If you’d like to see more styles like this, feel free to message me on Instagram with a style you’d like to try (I love Pinterest for inspiration photos/styles).

I’m a HUGE fan of hats! To me, you can style a hat anytime of year, especially in SoCal.
Wearing boho braids with hats gives a little flair and texture to your hat hair. I’d recommend this style for day 5-7 hair.
Try this style out through the link but remember, this style is about texture so have fun with how imperfect it becomes.

Faux Braid

This Half-Up/Half-Down style is best for day 2-4 hair. I love this hair style for going out with friends, summer date nights, and SundayFunday. I don’t recommend this style on clean hair with NBR because it could slip quickly compared to textured hair. Currently, I don’t have a tutorial on this hair style but stay on the look out for this one soon.

Believe it or not, Space Buns aren’t in my comfort zone… But they are a fun way to dress up your hair!
I find they also help you cool down more since your hair is off of your neck.
I’ve worn this style to work with a dressy top and feel like this would be a fun style for dancing or going to a concert.
This style works best for day 3-5 hair with dry shampoo.

Space Buns

This hair style is recommended from shoulder length or longer hair. I created this style A TON when we were on the East Coast for a few weeks last July.
I found this style to work best with day 2-4 hair. Although it’s a clawclip style, you want to have bounce to the hair sticking out of the clip. To add more bounce, use texture spray.

I’ve linked 2 versions of this style here:

The classic High Bun. It’s a style I turn to at least once a week, no matter what season I’m in.
With the placement of NBR, you can easily put your hair up into a high bun or ponytail without worrying about your extensions showing.
I love this the most because I can get my day 6-8 hair up into a bun with confidence and ease.

High Bun

This is a fun way to dress up a low ponytail. Inspired from a Pinterest tutorial, this is my favorite style for dressing up day 3-5 hair. You can wear this style with a t-shirt and jeans or a cute sundress and heels. Either way, you can extend your hair in style.
