How to Protect your Hair Extensions while Staying Active

When it comes to life, you have to take care of your body. Having hair extensions shouldn’t be an excuse (or an obstacle) when it comes to working out/staying active.

So today, I am going over some easy and simple ways your can protect your NBR hair extensions while maintaining an active life style.

  • While outdoors (where you’re not going into the water), I always suggest wearing a hat. This will give your hair a break from the UV rays and excess exposure to the elements.

If you are wearing a baseball cap, spray in the Oribe Invisible Defense + Braid you hair into a simple braid. Then put your cap on. You can also create a clawclip style with a baseball cap.

If you are wearing a bucket hat or a wide brim hat, you can either follow the braiding instructions above or style your hair into loose space buns to give you a little more breeze while you’re enjoying the outdoors.

  • Let’s be real: you MUST enjoy life whether you’re wearing hair extensions or not. wearing hair extensions shouldn’t hinder you from doing the activities you really enjoy.

When it comes to water sports + the beach, it’s important to take an moment to prep your hair extensions so you protect your investment.

If you are submerging into the water, you can prep your hair before heading to your favorite water spot by spritzing your hair with water & then spraying in the Oribe RunThrough Spray through the mids and ends. be sure to brush your hair and style it into a loose braid.

I find it’s best to keep your hair up and away from pool water since the chlorine and other chemicals could potentially compromise your extensions (even just your natural hair too).
Wear your hair in a loose bun on the top of your head with a clawclip or a Kitsch Scrunchie (provided in your New Install Bag) to keep your hair up and away from the pool water.
Be sure to prep prior to styling with the Oribe Invisible Defense to give your hair UV protection.

  • Here is what you need to protect your hair:
-Kitsch Scrunchies (provided in New Install Kit)
    -Oribe Invisible Defense
    -Clawclip
    -Oribe RunThrough
-Extension safe SPF (You can check out previous post for suggestions)
-Baseball cap or wide brim hat
