How did I get here?
You’ve probably learned a little bit about me and want to learn more about who your stylist will be.
I don’t blame you! With the new age of perfectly curated social media, it’s good to dig deep on who you’re about to meet. I promise you’re not getting catfished here.
With this post, I thought I would share a bit about my career and how I got to where I am today.
In my young life, I trained every hour I could to become a musician specializing in baroque and jazz music. I mostly played Alto Saxophone and Bassoon but found joy in picking up other instruments to try to master their basics. When I was in my junior year of high school, I receive the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and was asked by the military to be in their band in L.A. I spent nearly a year after high school training for my tests to enter into my career.
As the end of the year quickly approached, I realized I didn’t want to loose my passion for the one thing I had my entire life, the one thing that truly gave me a sense of self expression. As I quickly decided to change my career path, I had to figure out what my next steps where.
I looked back and realized I had done hair for the girls on the color guard team, always did my hair for dances, and occasionally did the hair of my family members. It was time to check out the local beauty school. At the time, I thought that if I didn’t like it, I could always try something else.
Nearly 10 years ago, I took that pivot from the path of becoming a professionally trained musician to become a hair stylist.
Doing hair is not something I dreamed of doing since I was 5 playing with dolls and it certainly wasn’t what I thought was going to happen within the month I made the decision. I wanted to have a respected career that was flexible, allowed me to still be creative while allowing me to connect with others.
And I am so glad I did it!
Going into the local beauty school is what changed my mind. It was the first time I had seen a huge group of women who loved the career path they were on AND the were having fun too!
This is what has driven me in my career: creating beautiful hair while making my guest’s feel at their best while my career flourished.
This drive led me to learning my heart out and earning more certificates than I could count on 2 hands! (no really, I spent many weekends learning, you can check them out here).
Until I rediscovered Natural Beaded Rows…
Then, it all stopped!
I found was I was searching for all those years: elite education to provide the luxury experience I felt my guest’s deserve and have longed for.
As a professional, it was the first time I found a truly safe place for me to not only learn the luxury extension method but it has allowed me to become the best version of the stylist I dreamt of being all those years ago. That’s why it all stopped. I found my tribe and high quality education in one place that I LOVE and my guest’s love too!
So, what IS Natural Beaded Rows?
Natural Beaded Rows (NBR) Hair Extensions is a method that is the most light weight hair extensions with the fullness you’ve always dreamed of. With this lightweight method, it allows your natural hair to improve over time, especially since it uses less contact on your hair. Not only do you get the benefits of allowing your hair to improve, NBR is so natural looking, you will be asked about your hair, not your extensions. It’s definitely been one of my favorite parts of wearing Natural Beaded Rows myself.
As a Licensed Artist, I am devoted to continuing my education with NBR Education (DKWS Academy) by connecting on weekly calls and improving my quality of work with in person education and daily practice on my dollhead Belinda (you’ll see her featured on my Instagram from time to time)
If it weren’t for Natural Beaded Rows, I wouldn’t be the stylist I am today: devoted to creating the best quality hair so you can feel confident every single day.
